LIN BUMGARDNER

Lin was born in Buffalo, New York where she showed an interest in art during high school . After moving to North Carolina, she explored oil painting.

She is a Registered Interior Designer in the state of Louisiana.  For the past nine years she has worked at Stoma's Furniture and Interiors, enjoying the design work that allows her to express  her artistic interests.

Lin was inspired by a friend's enthusiasm for an abstract acrylic class.

In February of 2006, after many years of not painting, Lin picked up a brush and jumped right in at her first ever Abstract Class.  It has been  non-stop color and paint since then!

She prefers to work in acrylic and mixed media.  Bold texture and strong colors, in abstracts, are proving to be a favored trend now. There are some realist studies in her portfolio as well.

Lin has hung work in several juried "Wealth Planners" shows, at Salon Dolce' in Beauregard Town, Latte'-Dah coffee shop in Gonzales, the salon at the downtown Hilton,Primo's Restaurant, DeAngelo's Restaurant in Denham Springs,  and now at The Funky Palette Gallery in "Circa 1857".  In addition she has been one of the featured artists at The Funky Palette, showing in several Mid-City Art Hops. Louisiana Public Broadcasting had  a juried art exhibition and  two of her paintings  were selected for their statewide auction.

After buying one of Lin's paintings, Ritter Maher Architects commissioned Lin to create a triptych which hangs in their entrance lobby.

Lin continues to learn and hone her skills by studying with several local art teachers. Her enthusiasm and curiosity seem to grow continually.
